Kids’ Eyecare & Eye Tests
Having clear vision as a child is essential for educational, physical and social development.
Having regular eye tests, from the age of about three, is therefore important and an eye-test prior to them starting full-time education is definitely recommended as this will allow any problems to be identified early.
Conditions such as squint and amblyopia (lazy eye) can be treated more effectively if they are picked up early.
Most children have good distance vision but their learning can be inhibited by an inefficient binocular vision. Learning is mainly performed at near e.g reading computer screens. Just because your child can see well at distance doesn’t mean they have good near vision, binocular efficiency and visual learning skills.
Maleny Optometrist, Paul Brown, has had years of experience providing children’s eye care services, offering eye examinations specifically tailored to childrens visual needs.
