Kids’ Eyecare & Eye Tests
Having clear vision as a child is essential for educational, physical and social development.
Having regular eye tests, from the age of about three, is therefore important and an eye-test prior to them starting full-time education is definitely recommended as this will allow any problems to be identified early.
Conditions such as squint and amblyopia (lazy eye) can be treated more effectively if they are picked up early.
Myopia, or short-sightedness is the most common eye problem amongst children. A child suffering from myopia will find common school activities, such as reading the whiteboard in class, difficult, and they may suffer from headaches and rub their eyes frequently. It is therefore important to pick this up as early as possible.
Maleny Optometrist, Paul Brown, has had years of experience providing children’s eye care services, offering eye examinations for children of all ages.
